Maduka dumps Royal AM, set to be unveiled as Maritzburg United coach

John Maduka has reportedly resigned as coach of Royal AM, and he’s set to be unveiled as Maritzburg United‘s new mentor on Wednesday.

Several media houses reports that Maduka tendered his resignation on Monday in what was undoubtedly a shocking decision by him.

And that’s because of how well Maduka did with Royal AM in his first season with them which saw Shauwn Mkhize’s team finish third on the log.

As a result, Royal AM will be campaigning in the CAF Confederation Cup next season, and this is a territory many would have thought fascinates Maduka.

Royal AM are yet to announce Maduka’s departure but they are expected to do so in the next few hours before he could be unveiled by Maritzburg United.

MARITZBURG UNITED IN THE MARKET FOR A NEW COACH

The Team of Choice are in the market for a new coach after recently sacking Ernst Middendorp despite his efforts to save the club from relegation.

A number of coaches had been linked with the coaching job at Maritzburg United, including Gavin Hunt and Fadlu Davids.

However, at this stage, it appears as if Maduka will be the man in charge, and his reported resignation is an indication that the Maritzburg United reports could be true.
