Serero or Jali for Kaizer Chiefs?
The Cream always rises to the top
Thulani Serero has enjoyed a stellar career outside of the PSL in the Netherlands and now the UAE. However, the 33-year-old’s current contract with Al Jazira is expiring and a move back to Mzansi reportedly appeals to the player.
Serero spent eight years on the European club scene and the entirety of it was in the Netherlands. It it all began with Ajax Amsterdam in 2011 after a €2.5m move from partner club Ajax Cape Town. He spent six years with the Dutch giants, notching 121 appearances, including 11 outings in the Champions League. His move to Vitesse Arnhem in 2017 saw him link up effectively with current Arsenal skipper Martin Ødegaard. Serero played a withdrawn midfield role for Vitesse with Ødegaard ahead of him as an 8.

What’s going on with Andile Jali?
It’s anybody’s guess where Andile Jali will be playing his football next season. It won’t be at Sundowns though. The former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates midfield general will have no lack of suitors, but he doesn’t fit the new, emerging philosophy at Chiefs. Ironically enough, Jali is only ONE DAY older than Serero, but the latter will have a new lease on life should he return to the PSL. AJ seems jaded.
The decision for Kaizer Chiefs, should they have the privilege of making it, is so obvious.
