The Buccaneers will be looking to make it two cup final appearances in as many attempts. Jose Riveiro’s lifted this season’s only other cup (MTN8).

For Arthur Zwane’s Kaizer Chiefs, a cup triumph will do him the world of good after a largely underwhelming maiden season in charge at the Glamour Boys!

Veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune was nowhere to be seen in Arthur Zwane’s match-day squad.

Khune started the previous match against Swallows FC in which the Glamour Boys went down 2-1.

Brandon Petersen walks straight back into the starting lineup at the expense of the Kaizer Chiefs legend.

Bruce Bvuma was named as Zwane’s back-up goalkeeper on the bench this afternoon.

History and form mean nothing in the derby – Arthur Zwane

“You know football, you cannot rely more on what you have done in the past.” Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane said as quoted by Citizen.

“Yes, we have won those games. It talks to the preparations, we got them right.

“The Pirates coach (Jose Riveiro) said that this time around, this will be a different Orlando Pirates team. But only time will tell.

“Pirates are doing well, and we will be coming into this game as underdogs. But Kaizer Chiefs will go to FNB Stadium with one thing on our mind, to go there and give our best and be victorious.

“We have been blowing hot and cold this season, and the players know what is expected of them.”
