Khune opens up on Kaizer Chiefs contract situation

Kaizer Chiefs are yet to take a decision on veteran goalkeeper and club legend Itumeleng Khune according to the keeper himself

Itumeleng Khune’s contract at Kaizer Chiefs is set to come to a close at the end of the season.

The veteran goalkeeper has struggled for game-time this season with Brandon Petersen being Arthur Zwane’s first choice.

Khune has since opened up about his contract situation at the Glamour Boys.

“So if the club feels that: ‘Itu we have had enough, thank you for your service,’ then if we have to part ways, then we will. That will be the club’s decision.” the Kaizer Chiefs legend told Marawa Sports World as quoted by KickOff.

“If the club says: ‘Itu we would like to keep you but in a different position, I will still gladly appreciate what the club has done for me.

“If I have to go coach, I will sit down with my wife, discuss and see if I still have it in my legs. So there’s a lot that we are going to discuss.”

“It will depend on what the club thinks at that time, the contract is coming to an end but what’s more important is what I offer on a daily basis, and the club will reward me based on that.”

In other news, four former Orlando Pirates stars are set to enjoy a mini-reunion in Botswana.

Gaborone side VTM is currently home to both Rooi Mahamutsa and Sifiso Myeni.
