Itumeleng Khune: Gavin Hunt has a big call to make for Nedbank Cup
Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has some tough calls to make ahead of this weekend’s Nedbank Cup Round of 32 clash against Richards Bay.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has some tough calls to make ahead of this weekend’s Nedbank Cup Round of 32 clash against Richards Bay.

A number of Amakhosi’s big name players have been on the fringes this season and will be looking to get some action against lower division opposition in the tournament.
However, Amakhosi have had their fair share of disappointment against “weaker” opponents in the Nedbank Cup in the past, having been sent packing by the likes of Baroka FC, University of Pretoria, Cape Town City and Black Leopards in the past.
Kaizer Chiefs have been drawn to play Richards Bay in the last 32 on Saturday, February 6 at their FNB Stadium home as they look to bounce back from the Soweto derby defeat to Orlando Pirates last weekend.
Kick-off is at 17:00.

It’s a match in which Hunt could well be tempted to rest some of the team’s key players, especially considering Kaizer Chiefs’ following match is their CAF Champions League group stage match against WAC Casablanca away from home.
But, can Gavin Hunt afford to take a risk?
Itumeleng Khune has been trending this week, thanks mainly to THIS article.
The Amakhosi and Bafana Bafana legend has made some costly errors this season and was dropped by Hunt last December after just five league matches.
Still only 33-years-old, Itumeleng Khune has age on his side. He’s a veteran of South African soccer having played over 250 matches for Kaizer Chiefs and is approaching the 100-cap mark for Bafana Bafana.

Another player itching for action is Siphelele Ntshangase.
Hunt recently said players such as Ntshangase need to work harder to get into the team. There’s probably no better game for the midfielder to convince his coach that he deserves more opportunities in the starting line-up.
