Kaizer Chiefs fans are anxiously awaiting ‘breaking news’ regarding incoming and outgoing players at Naturena.

This comes after yet another disastrous season! The mighty Amakhosi finished in 10th position on the DStv Premiership log standings.

They also failed to lift any silverware while rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates both lifted two trophies each!

And now, the club’s supporters are expecting a major response in the upcoming transfer window.

Kaizer Chiefs’ silence explained

According to reputable local publication IDiski Times, Chiefs are focusing on landing a new head coach before taking any transfer decisions!

“Kaizer Chiefs have yet to officially communicate any incoming or outgoing player transfers as they continue their pursuit of a new head coach,” – the publication reported.

“iDiski Times sources have indicated that at the end of last month, the club called a meeting and requested for the players to be patient while they first finalise the successor to Molefi Ntseki, who was sacked seven months ago.”

In other news, the agent of Royal AM star Mfundo Thikazi has confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs have enquired about the availability of the talented winger.

Thikazi has been one of Royal AM’s standout performers since making his debut for the club in 2021.

The speedy winger scored 12 goals in 77 appearances for Royal AM while registering two more assists.

And now, the 24-year-old is reportedly wanted by Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs!

According to the latest transfer gossip, Chiefs have made a formal approach for Thikazi however Royal AM are reluctant to lose their star man amidst a transfer ban!

“For now, it’s just interest. Yes, Chiefs have shown interest in the player. We will see when the team returns from the break for preseason training and camp to see what will happen,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“It’s not the first time that Kaizer Chiefs have shown interest in Thikazi. Last season before they signed Tebogo Potsane they actually wanted him but Royal AM could not let him go. But at the moment it looks like they will let him go.”

The player’s agent Thabang Mncwabe further confirmed to the publication that Kaizer Chiefs have made contact with him over Thikazi.
