Hlompho Kekana has also been linked with a move to struggling Swallows and Chippa United, but Baroka FC have ruled out signing the veteran.

Baroka FC chairperson Khurishi Mphahlele said: “Honestly, we would love to have him in our team, but we need to be realistic, we cannot afford him.

“He is a good player and everyone knows it. He has achieved a lot in football and any team would love to have an experienced player like him.”

Hlompho Kekana played over 350 matches for Mamelodi Sundowns

The veteran midfielder departed Chloorkop as the club’s most decorated captain having made more than 350 appearances across all competitions for the Brazilians.
