While we’re sure the Week 1 fixtures for the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season have been announced, we now think we know the dates of the two most important matches on the calendar!

Those dates are of course the two Soweto derbies between bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

The first round derby between the rivals will be played on Saturday, 29 October, 2022 with the Buccaneers hosting Amakhosi at the FNB Stadium at 15:30.

It will of course be a first derby for both head coaches – Orlando Pirates’ Jose Riveiro and Kaizer Chiefs’ Arthur Zwane – who were appointed in the off-season.

The second round derby is expected to be played on Saturday, 25 February, 2023, at the same venue at 16:30 with Kaizer Chiefs as hosts.

By then, both sets of supporters will be hoping that their clubs are still in the running to win the DStv Premiership title.

But, as reported by The South African website, that is unlikely to be the case. HERE’S WHY!
