Goodman Mosele takes heart from Kaizer Chiefs links

With Goodman Mosele likely to attract more interest from abroad as he gets greater exposure, Kaizer Chiefs and their Soweto rivals would be wise to move on the midfielder as quickly as possible.

Baroka FC star midfielder Goodman Mosele says that being linked to Kaizer Chiefs is an encouraging sign that his career is headed in the right direction.

The 21-year-old playmaker is currently in camp with the national under-23 squad as they prepare for the Olympic Games later this year.

The Olympic Games are set to offer many young players an opportunity to impress but it seems Mosele is already attracting attention from the likes of both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Having been named the PSL’s young player of the season, Mosele co continues to impress this term with the Limpopo club.

With Mosele likely to attract more interest from abroad as he gets greater exposure, Kaizer Chiefs and their Soweto rivals would be wise to move on the midfielder as quickly as possible.

Motivation to continue working hard

Mosele says that he hasn’t spoken to Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates about a possible move but the links to these kind of clubs give him heart.

“Aah about Kaizer Chiefs neh, I only see it on on social media, nobody or my chairman has said anything about it,” Mosele told KickOff.com.

“So I’m not really entertaining it. Rather, it gives me that thing to work more than before.”

Mosele could be right to take the links with a pinch of salt as it seems every man and his dog has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs since it was revealed that they will be able to sign players when the next transfer window opens.

Goodman Mosele encouraged to join Kaizer Chiefs

Coach Gavin Hunt and the club’s Football Manager Bobby Motaung have been cagey on exactly who they are trying to recruit but it is believed that Kaizer Chiefs are set to undergo a massive overhaul of their squad after a disappointing start to the 2020/21 campaign.

Hunt has not been able to sign players and has seen many of the players who helped Kaizer Chiefs to second place under Ernst Middendorp in 2019/20 regress or battle to adapt to the style of play he has employed.

The rebuilding job at Kaizer Chiefs is what makes former Pirates midfielder Lebogang Mothibantwa believe Mosele is better off joining Amakhosi rather than the Sea Robbers.

“The big teams like to go for the shining stars and sometimes these players are just young boys who are still trying to find their feet in the big league. I’d rather advise him (Mosele) to go to Kaizer Chiefs. Look at Pirates, they are a very strong team and Chiefs on the other side are on a rebuilding phase. I’d advise him to go where he knows that he’s going to play,” said Mothibantwa.
