Give Itumeleng Khune a chance, what’s the worst that could happen?

In doing so, Amakhosi have now lost FOUR consecutive matches – the first time the proud club has suffered such embarrassment since the inception of the PSL in 1996.

Historically, interim coaches come in and make an immediately impact (for the better).

But not this time.

In fact, it’s the first time in exactly 10 years that an interim Amakhosi coach – or coaches – have been appointed but lost their first three matches in charge.

Previously, Ace Khuse did the same in April 2012 when he took over following Vladimir Vermezovic’s departure.

The string of defeats suffered by Kaizer Chiefs once again highlighted the problems the Soweto giants are currently facing, not only in their technical team, but among their playing personnel as well.

That being said, surely it’s time for veteran Itumeleng Khune to be given a chance in goal?

Literally, what’s the worst that could happen?

Amakhosi are currently paying Khune, but not selecting him as Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma continue to be the preferred starter and substitute.

Kaizer Chiefs have scored 29 goals in their 26 matches to date, and conceded 23. Not the recipe for a successful season!

With just four matches left in their 2021/22 league season, The South African website is calling on interim coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillion Sheppard to pick Itumeleng Khune – starting on Tuesday this week!
