Hunt took the reins from Kaitano Tembo at the beginning of the season with much expected of the man who led them to three successive PSL titles between 2008 and 2010.

However, it has been far from smooth sailing for Hunt in his second tenure as Matsatsantsa boss as they currently occupy a lowly 14th position after two defeats and two draws from their four matches this season.

But despite having yet to win this season, Hunt is confident in the project that is being built.

“It is a club that believes in youth and we will keep on playing the youth, but yes, it does create anxious moments because you want results, but we will get better,” Gavin Hunt told the media after their goalless draw against Orlando Pirates on Sunday.

“There is no doubt that we could have had eight or nine points now playing the same game. I have a great belief in this team that there is a way and we will definitely get better.

“But all in all, we did well and I know what to do and not what to do. But if you look at the league, Cape Town City came second [last season] and they haven’t won a game [this term yet].”

SuperSport United will be looking to end their winless streak when they travel to face Richards Bay on Wednesday, 24 August.
