Hunt said it was ‘difficult’ being sacked by Chiefs as he believes he would have been able to turn the club’s fortunes around had they given him enough time.

At the start of the previous season, Hunt was appointed as Chippa United mentor before he was dismissed after just five months in charge.

HUNT ON CHIEFS AND CHIPPA JOBS

“It’s very difficult, you’re a coach for 27 years, you’ve never been fired and all of a sudden you get fired twice in six months and then you say I’m to blame and you go from there,” said Hunt as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“Ja, I mean you all know what happened at those clubs, first club, you’ve got no chance and it’s sad because I really felt that I would win there but it doesn’t work like that.

“But here, we’re back at SuperSport, we’ll give it a go, we need to build again and we’ve got good youth there, there’s a good crop underneath the starting eleven but it needs a little bit of time.

“As I said, we need to nurture it, I think the biggest thing is you’ve got to try win games that you shouldn’t win, you understand what I’m saying.

“And try to turn losses into draws and those types of things and if you can do that, then you’ll get consistency and you’ll have a good team. But it takes time.”

HUNT REBUILDING MATSATSANTSA

Having just reunited with SuperSport United who were struggling somewhat last season, Hunt seems to be restoring his confidence gradually with Matsantsantsa also finding their feet under his guidance.

The Swanky Boys currently occupy third spot in the DStv Premiership standings having grabbed four wins in nine games.
