Gavin Hunt offers Luke Fleurs advice amid Kaizer Chiefs transfer speculation

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has urged defender Luke Fleurs to remain focused amid the transfer speculation surrounding him.

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has urged defender Luke Fleurs to remain focused amid the transfer speculation surrounding him.

Fleurs is one of the brightest young players in the DStv Premiership, establishing himself at the heart of the Matsatsantsa rearguard.

He has even attracted the attention of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.

The 23-year-old has predictably been linked with a number of top clubs and veteran coach Hunt has offered him some advice.

“I always say to any player that has lot of media hype around him to treat the game with respect, train properly, play properly do right things and the game will take care of you. It’s important players to understand that,” said Gavin Hunt, according to the KickOff website.

Fleurs reportedly remains top of Kaizer Chiefs’ shopping list as the Soweto giants look to lure him to Naturena.

Fleurs is in his fifth season with SuperSport United having signed from Ubuntu Cape Town in 2018.

Meanwhile, SuperSport United will resume their 2022/23 DStv Premiership campaign following the FIFA World Cup breaking against Marumo Gallants at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday, 30 December.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30.

SuperSport United are currently third in the DStv Premiership standings with 21 points after 12 matches, while Marumo Gallants find themselves down in 11th place with 13 points after 12 games.
