Hunt has been unemployed since parting ways with Chippa United in December last year.
Prior to that he was sacked as coach of Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.

However, according to the Soccer Laduma website, Hunt could well find himself back in the dugout in the new season.

Gavin Hunt is a four-time PSL title winner having led SuperSport United to a hat-trick of titles as well as having overseen now defunct Bidvest Wits’ only ever title win.
According to sources, Hunt is being targeted by Maritzburg United and is believed to be on the shortlist of coaches for the now vacant role at the Team of Choice.

As reported by The South African website, Maritzburg United parted ways with another former Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp earlier in the week.
Hunt’s biggest opposition for the role at the KwaZulu-Natal side could be former Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids.
However, Davids has also been linked with the SuperSport United job.
