GABADINHO MHANGO STRIKES GOAL OF HIS LIFE AGAINST MOROCCO AT AFCON 2021

As The South African reported on Tuesday night, the 29-year-old forward left Sevilla and Morocco’s goalkeeper, Bono on his knees, as Mhango’s shot flew into the top right-hand corner.

Despite Morocco’s eventual 2-1 win on the night to march into the last 16, Orlando Pirates’ Gabadinho Mhango went to bed with some personal glory.

The goal has, without surprise, become a hot favourite to win the AFCON 2021 goal of the tournament.

For some reason, some observers have suggested the goal was somewhat of a fluke.

WAS IT A FLUKE?

Among thousands of reactions and opinions that spread across social media on Tuesday night, one of the comments that caught our eyes was from Orlando Pirates’ former analyst Michael Loftman.

The former Egypt national side analyst went on social media to reveal that Mhango’s goal in Yaounde is what we can always expect from the nippy forward.

“After working with Mhango for 2 seasons… I am not at all surprised about him scoring that goal. Fits his personality and ability perfectly,” Loftman said on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Mhango is expected to be seen in the Orlando Pirates team that will take on AmaZulu in the Nedbank Cup on 6 February.
