Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye has named four players he thought Amakhosi should’ve snapped up in the recent winter window.

The Glamour Boys completed their business early, with Burundian striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Mozambican defender Edmilson Dove arriving late. Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates, by contrast, added three marquee deadline day signings.

Khanye thought Chiefs might have gone for players like Kermit Erasmus and Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, who both signed for Pirates as we all know.

Khanye laments Kaizer Chiefs transfer activity

“They don’t want to compete, they were supposed to sign Kermit,” he told iDiski Times in an interview.

“They are supposed to go all out to get [Sphelele] Mkhulise from Sundowns, he’s not being used. Break the account, yes for quality.

“Chiefs should’ve gone for Mkhulise, also for me they should’ve gone for [Mduduzi] Mdantsane from Cape Town City, because I thought they would’ve gone for Ndlondlo, but now they kept quiet. I’m shocked.

“They’re not going to compete, I’m sorry, unfortunately, because I don’t think the players they’ve got are better than the players they’ve let go.”
