Gavin Hunt has done too much damage since joining Kaizer Chiefs, and that’s according to one of the club’s former stars.

Junior Khanye, who is now a football pundit, believes Amakhosi have regressed under the guidance of Hunt, and feels the 56-year-old mentor has ‘killed’ Chiefs.

Khanye’s comments come on the back of Chiefs’ 4-0 defeat to Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League on Sunday.

Furthermore, Khanye questioned Hunt’s presence at Chiefs, asking what is it that he’s bringing to the club as the results haven’t improving since replacing Ernst Middendorp in 2020.

“Gavin Hunt is too much of a disaster. He killed that club,” Khanye told iDiskiTV.

“I keep on asking myself, what is it that Gavin is bringing to Chiefs?” he asked.

Asked at what point the Chiefs management should call Hunt to a meeting, Khanye said: “He doesn’t have to be called to a meeting. Numbers don’t lie. He must just resign. There is no need for a meeting.”

Khanye said one of Hunt’s biggest downfalls is his reliance on certain players who are not doing enough whenever he’s giving them a chance.

“The other problem is that Gavin keeps on playing the players that are giving him nothing,” added Khanye.

Hunt has been in charge of 27 matches across all competitions thus far.

He has recorded just seven wins while drawing 10 and losing the other 10 matches.

Chiefs are also out of the Nedbank Cup, and things are not looking pretty for them in the league either as they are currently placed 10th on the DStv Premiership log.
