Former Kaizer Chiefs & Chippa United midfielder returns to SA football

Former Kaizer Chiefs youth midfielder Chris Matombo has made a return to South African football after spending time in Malta.

Former Kaizer Chiefs youth midfielder Chris Matombo has made a return to South African football after spending time in Malta.

The 27-year-old, who also played for Chippa United, has joined GladAfrica Championship side Sekhukhune United following a spell with Senglea Athletic.

According to the KickOff website, Matombo has signed a season-long contract with an option to extend.

SEKHUKHUNE UNITED ARE ONE OF SA’S BEST-RUN SIDES

Sekhukhune United are one of the best-run teams in South African football under the leadership of Simon and Jonas Malatjie.

They have assembled a strong squad for the 2020/21 season including the likes of Morgan Gould, Prince Nxumale and Jabulani Maluleke.

The Limpopo side are currently third on the GladAfrica Championship log after five matches.
