Highlands Park and Stellenbosch look to bounce back from midweek disappointments when they square off in Tembisa on Saturday. The Lions of the North were unable to spoil Kaizer Chiefs’ 50th birthday party in Soweto, losing 3-0 to Ernst Middendorp’s men.

Elsewhere, the Polokwane derby at Peter Mokaba Stadium between Baroka and Polokwane City on Saturday could go some way towards deciding who keeps their top-flight status come May.

There’s a tasty prospect to look forward to for two of the league’s surprise packages.

The success of Chippa United and Maritzburg United has perhaps come as a surprise to many this season. The two teams will square off in Mdantsane in this Saturday evening’s only Premiership fixture.

On Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs look to continue their fine run of form against Cape Town City when the PSL leaders host Jan Olde Riekerink’s men in Soweto. Amakhosi have won their last three games against the Citizens, including two in Cape Town this season.

Also on Sunday, Cavin Johnson is still chasing his first point as Black Leopards coach and now faces a difficult visit to Bloemfontein Celtic at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium.

AmaZulu and SuperSport United will wrap up the action on Sunday afternoon with two additional fixtures scheduled for midweek. The hosts will continue their search for their first home win of 2020 at Kings Park.

AmaZulu coach Jozef Vukusic said he was happy with the away point after his  side rallied from 2-0 down to  draw against Cape Town City on Wednesday.

“It was very important for us, our minimum target was to get one point,” Vukusic said. “We managed to win the home game, so we have now four points from what you could say is a direct opponent [in the relegation battle].

“The game did not start well for us, we were two goals behind. We must respect the nice shots that made it 2-0 for them [City].

“But we showed character, we are still trying to find the balance between defence and offense, and we need to manage the game better, but finally the team played to their potential.”
