Fans react after Khama Billiat goes AWOL

Khama Billiat is nowhere to be found, he is even ignoring Kaizer Chiefs’ calls and some fans say the Zimbabwean should be dealt with.

Scores have reacted to the news that Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat is nowhere to be found.

The 32-year-old has not been seen at the club since 29 June and some fans are concerned whille others say he should be disciplined.

In a statement, Kaizer Chiefs say they have tabled a new offer for Billiat to extend his contract, but he has not responded to the offer or any attempts to contact him.

“Following the expiry of attacking midfielder Khama Billiat’s Kaizer Chiefs contract on 30 June 2023, the Club tabled a new offer for the Zimbabwean marksman to remain with Amakhosi. However, to date, the player has not responded to the offer or any attempts to contact him.”

Some fans not happy with Billiat’s actions

“The team is currently in camp with all the players, yet Billiat, who is also expected to be there with his teammates, failed to show up and is currently nowhere to be found,” Chiefs said in a statement on Saturday.

Fans took to social media to display their thoughts on the whole Chiefs/Billiat issue. Earlier this week, it was reported that the former Mamelodi Sundowns was unhappy with his new contract and did not want to take a pay cut.

@phineasSebola1 wrote, ” Chiefsreally needs to check on Billiat if he is fine or not. I don’t think a Player can just ignore calls like that. Khama Billiat has had a fair part of his own challenges but he is also a human being his wellbeing is a concern to most of us.”

@0nk321 wrote, “He needs to go. He has been useless for years. Even worse, he will renew only to play 5 games and rest of the season nursing an injury.”
