Chiefs have already been rumoured to have made up to three signings so far, with one if not all possibly being part of that announcement planned.

Coach or player(s) to be unveiled by Chiefs?

The other possibility could be the much anticipated arrival of the new Chiefs head coach at their Naturena offices on Thursday. The source from within the club did not want to go as far as confirming which of the two would be unveiled at the announcement, but left both options open, in fear of giving away too much information.

If the announcement is on the playing side, then it would seem as if there are three options that Chiefs can unveil, from what has been doing the rounds. The first could be one of their earliest signings Siyethemba Sithebe who is thought to have sealed his contract to Naturena as far back as the January transfer window, on a pre-contract. The emergence of those details at that particular time, led to the player being frozen out of the AmaZulu set up, since he was deemed to no longer be committed to the Usuthu cause.

Kwinika and du Preez set to join from Stellenbosch

The second player who has all but been confirmed as a Chiefs player, is Stellenbosch FC defender and academy product Zitha Kwinika. Kwinika played for Amakhosi in the early parts of his career before going to fight for regular first team football elsewhere. He has since notably found forged a great career for himself as a regular at both the now defunct Bidvest Wits and Stellies. The coach of the Cape Winelands side Steve Barker confirmed at the club awards recently, where Kwinika won the Player of the Season award that, he Kwinika would be returning to his boyhood club.

The latest addition to the Chiefs side is another Stellenbosch player, and long-term target Ashley du Preez. The South African News reported on Sunday that Amakhosi had wrapped up the deal for the speedy forward. On Wednesday morning, more publications started to come out with similar narratives, so it remains to be seen if he will be part of the announcement tomorrow.

On the coaching side, it has surprisingly been a lot quieter in terms of the rumour mill and it would really be intriguing to see where Chiefs look for their next coach. Could that coach be revealed at the announcement on Thursday? Only time will tell.
