Kaizer Chiefs have received a massive boost to their crisis in the striking department with one of their top strikers back at Naturena.

Kaizer Chiefs have received a massive boost to their crisis in the striking department with one of their top strikers back at Naturena.

The South African can confirm that Leonardo Castro is BACK at Chiefs after spending some time away in Colombia.

In September, Chiefs confirmed that Castro could barely walk after surgery, and that he would do rehabilitation at his native country – the striker also used the time to spend with his family.

According to a source within the Chiefs camp who asked to remain anonymous, Castro has returned to the club to continue with his recovery.

What excites Chiefs the most, though, is that Castro is close to rejoining his teammates at the training grounds, according to the source.

“He is in the country, and he’s looking better and fitter after rehabilitation,” the source told The South African.

“He is very close to returning to action, and his progress has excited the club,” added the source.

Castro has featured in 110 competitive matches since joining Chiefs from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018.

He has scored 29 goals and recorded nine assists in all competitions for the Glamour Boys.
