According to Myeni, Chiefs, through Bobby Motaung and Kaizer Motaung Jr. only phoned him to ask him to join them at Naturena.

At some point, Myeni almost signed for Sundowns instead of Pirates as the Tshwane giants appeared very keen on him.

“I had Sundowns, Chiefs and then Pirates who were interested. So, I went to Mbulelo Mabizela as an older person in the football fraternity to ask for his advice.

“He told me one thing, ‘go where your heart tells you to go and don’t regret any decisions that you make’,” he said.

“Yes, I was tempted to go to Chiefs and Sundowns, I used to live in Braamfontein and used to see a Sundowns car at my flat, and also a Pirates car waiting for me.

“As for Kaizer Chiefs I only got calls from Bobby, I got calls from Kaizer Jr. saying ‘no come to Naturena’. So, with Pirates, it was serious, they came straight,” added Myeni.
