Ex-Orlando Pirates star could face 6-month suspension!

PSL prosecuter Nande Becker has hinted at a possible six-month suspension for former Orlando Pirates player Mpho Makola.

PSL prosecuter Nande Becker has hinted at a possible SIX-month suspension for former Orlando Pirates player Mpho Makola.

The Cape Town City player was caught shoving PSL official Cladwin Baloyi.

Makola pushed Baloyi during the penalty shootout against Mamelodi Sundowns. He was infuriated at the referee because he believed Denis Onyango was off his line when he made a crucial save.

This would prove to be a decisive moment in the final as The Brazilians lifted their first-ever MTN8 trophy after a 14-year drought.

The PSL has a zero tolerance policy against contact with their officials.

“I just saw a very short clip somebody took off the television screen. I saw a player from Cape Town City shove the match official with both hands.” stated Becker.

“There will be a fight again as the DC previously banned the player for six months and after the appeal, they reduced the sanction there,” explained PSL’s prosecutor.

This is not the first time Makola has been in hot water with the PSL.

In 2019 he was suspended after pushing referee Abongile Tom in a match against Kaizer Chiefs.
