A former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates attacking midfielder has resurfaced in Pretoria.

According to GladAfrica Championship side Pretoria Callies, William Twala started training with them this week in an attempt to get a short-term contract.

Callies media officer Doctor Maphalle confirmed Twala’s presence at the club’s training grounds.

However, he distanced the club from reports that the winger has already put pen to paper with Callies.

“Twala has been training with us since the start of this week,” Maphalle told Daily Sun.

“But I know nothing if he has already been signed. But when it happens management will notify me to inform our fans,” he said.

Twala has been around for quite some time in the local scenes having played for Pirates, Chippa United and Chiefs as a professional footballer.

The 31-year-old was recently on the books of Iraq-based outfit Erbil SC whom he joined in October 2020 on a season-long deal.

Nonetheless, he returned home for personal reasons, and he’s looking to revive his career with GladAfrica Championship rookies Callies for the second half of the season.

Twala’s now terminated contract with Erbil SC was set to expire in June 2021.
