Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove has sent a message to the Amakhosi fans after winning the second consecutive Man of the Match award.

Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove sent a message to Amakhosi fans after winning the second consecutive man of the match award when his side triumphed 3-1 against Stellenbosch FC on Sunday.

The Mozambican defender had won the first accolade in their second-last match against Swallows in midweek.

The 28-year-old has made four appearances in all competitions thus far since joining the Phefeni Boys in August.

After receiving the award after the match against Stellies, Dove urged the Chiefs’ supporters to throw their weight behind the team.

‘WE’RE GOING TO NEED YOU’ – DOVE

“Once more thank you for your support,” Dove told SuperSport TV after the match against Stellenbosch FC.

“For always being with us every time we need you. You’ve once more shown that you are behind us. We’re going to need you.”

ZWANE ON WHAT DOVE BRINGS TO THE TEAM

“Yes, we might have made a few mistakes in applying ourselves but when we were building up from the back we were very composed, we always waited for the right moment,” Zwane told SuperSport TV after the SuperSport United game in September.

“You could see with the first goal, we were not just kicking the ball because we were under pressure, because of the balance of play.

“Balance we’ve got a left-footed centre-back that can easily connect with the midfielders or with Hlanti. So we needed that and let’s hope that we’ll keep it that way as time goes on and improve.”
