The 2022/23 DStv Premiership season resumed on Friday, 30 December following a break for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

In what was the stand-out clash, Mamelodi Sundowns extended their lead atop the standings after a 2-0 win over Orlando Pirates thanks to goals from midfielders Mothobi Mvala (41st minute) and Cassius Mailula (63rd minute).
