Kaizer Chiefs return to action against Cape Town City FC in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday, 15 February.

Both sides head into the clash on the back of defeats having crashed out of the Nedbank Cup in the Round of 32 last Saturday.

The Citizens lost 2-1 to Royal AM while Amakhosi fell to a 1-0 defeat against TS Galaxy.

In the league standings, Kaizer Chiefs sit fourth on the table with 28 points from 16 matches, while Cape Town City are ninth on 22 points after 16 games.

In their last five meetings in all competitions, Amakhosi have won three times along with one defeat and a draw.

Kaizer Chiefs simply can’t afford not to win

In their most recent league match on 21 April 2021, Cape Town City beat Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at the FNB Stadium while prior to that on 16 January 2021 Amakhosi ran out 2-1 winners at the Cape Town Stadium.

If the Glamour Boys wish to retain any chance of challenging for the DStv Premiership title this season, they simply cannot afford not to win.
