Mamelodi Sundowns now need only draw at home to Cape Town to take an unassailable DStv Premiership lead, pocket the R15 million first prize and secure a 2022/23 CAF Champions League place.

Ahead of the clash with Cape Town City, the Brazilians have 57 points, Royal AM 45, Cape Town City 40 and Kaizer Chiefs 39, along with out-of-contention Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch.

The remainder of the top eight who are all looking for MTN8 spots next season are AmaZulu (36) and SuperSport United (35).

At the foot of the table, things are looking bad for Baroka FC who are now five points adrift of second-from-last TS Galaxy with just four matches remaining.
