Mamelodi Sundowns walked away with the largest slice of the nearly R40 MILLION on offer to the 16 teams in the recently concluded 2020/21 DStv Premiership season.

According to Soccer Laduma, DStv shelled out a cool R39.9 million in total which was divided among the 16 sides.
Champions Mamelodi Sundowns took home R15 million for winning while AmaZulu bagged exactly half of that – R7.5 million – for their impressive runners-up finish.

Orlando Pirates, who finished third on the log and will represent South Africa in the CAF Confederation Cup next season, earned a R3.75 million cheque.
For Kaizer Chiefs, their final day 1-0 win over TS Galaxy saw them move from ninth to eighth in the standings. That jump was worth as much as R315 000.

The Premier Soccer League’s DStv sponsorship kicked in at the start of the 2020/21 season when they replaced long-time sponsors Absa.
