Mamelodi Sundowns’ Namibian star Peter Shalulile proved last season to be the deadliest DStv Premiership striker in the country – and he’s on track to ‘defend’ his title.

Shalulile has now completed his campaign and did not score in Masandawana’s final match on Tuesday against Maritzburg United.

That leaves the Namibian striker on 12 goals, tied with Khanyiso Mayo of Cape Town City FC.

Mayo has one match remaining – against Kaizer Chiefs – on Saturday, 20 May in which he could clinch this season’s coveted Golden Boot.

No one will break – or come even close – to the all-time PSL record of 25 goals held by Zambia’s Collins Mbesuma while playing for Kaizer Chiefs in the 2004/05 season.
