Hlompho Kekana’s long-range goals didn’t begin at DStv Premiership level. The Zebediele-born star has revealed it all began in high school.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS LEGEND HLOMPHO KEKANA MADE HIS TEACHER FAINT

We all surely have a favourite or two from the veteran midfielder’s archives. Take a moment to imagine those goals… can we really blame the teacher that fainted after watching a Hlompho Kekana electric shot?

The former Mamelodi Sundowns took some time to look back on his special strikes. Talking via the MTN FC’s podcast, Kekana was asked how long he took to practice his famous shots?

“I did that a lot when I was still at school,” Hlompho Kekana said.

“It was crazy because there were so many goals I scored when I was still at school. Those ones were very crazy,” he added with a big smile and shake of the head.

“I recently posted a video on Instagram, it was the goal I scored at the Orlando Stadium against Senzo Meyiwa, he added.

“A guy commented to ask me if I still remember scoring goals like that when we were still in school? Our class teacher collapsed, he fainted because of that. So it was crazy!”

FORMER SUNDOWNS PRESIDENT MOTSEPE CHANGED KEKANA’S

In related news, the 36-year-old midfielder, who is yet to find a new club since leaving Kabo Yellow in recent months, revealed how Patrice Motsepe left a great influence on his life.

The ex-Bafana Bafana star went on his Twitter to wish Motsepe a happy birthday – but it was more than just an ordinary wish.

“Happy birthday to the CAF president,” Kekana said.

“The man has influenced my life in so many ways and today we celebrate him,” added the former Black Leopards, Bloemfontein Celtic, and SuperSport United number eight.
