The PSL on Wednesday announced the four team names along with the squads and their coaches for the inaugural DStv Compact Cup later this month.

Voting is now open to determine the starting line-ups. It will close on Wednesday, 12 January.

The DStv Compact Cup is set to take place over the last two Saturdays – 22nd and 29th – of January.

The PSL has divided the 16 DStv Premiership member clubs into four regions, comprising two inland and two coastal regions, as follows:

Coastal Group 1: AmaZulu, Golden Arrows, Maritzburg United, Royal AM
Coastal Group 2: Cape Town City FC, Stellenbosch FC, Chippa United, Baroka FC (exception)
Inland Group 1: SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns, Marumo Gallants, Sekhukhune United
Inland Group 2: Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Swallows, TS Galaxy

Dstv Compact Cup team names:

Inland Group 1: Dinaledi FC
Inland Group 2: Warriors FC
Coastal Group 1: Amabutho
Coastal Group 2: Coastal United FC

Coaches:

The Inland Group 1: Dinaledi FC will be coached by Dan Malesela with Manqoba Mngqithi, Kaitano Tembo and MacDonald Makhubedu assisting as technical advisors.

Current Swallows coach Dylan Kerr will take charge of the Inland Group 2: Warriors FC with Fani Madida as his assistant while Stuart Baxter, Fadlu Davids and Esau Mtsweni will be the technical advisors.

The Coastal Group 1: Amabutho will be mentored by former Kaizer Chiefs and current Maritzburg United coach Ernst Middendorp who shall be assisted by Abram Nteo with Benni McCarthy, Lehlohonolo Seena and John Maduka named as technical advisors.

Finally, Stellenbosch FC’s Steve Barker will be at the helm of the Coastal Group 2: Coastal United FC and will be able to call on a technical team which includes Eric Tinkler, Kurt Lentjies and Thoka Matsimela.

Squads:

The DStv Compact Cup squads comprise 26 players made up of eight defenders, eight midfielders, four strikers, two goalkeepers and four DStv Diski Challenge players.
