PSL transfers: Deadline day recap

Kermit Erasmus: Sundowns to Pirates

Arguably the most high-profile move of the window, and it went through with time ticking away. Kaizer Chiefs will be furious that a serious target of theirs has signed for the enemy. Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates get a 32-year-old striker who knows how to find the back of the net. The message from the Buccaneering, returning Romeo: “I’m back baby!”

Lyle Lakay: Sundowns to Cape Town City

This is a move that makes a lot of sense for all three parties. Lakay is now third-choice left-back for the Brazilians with the talented Terrence Mashego having arriving at the club from Cape Town City. The additional presence of Sifiso Ngobeni made Lakay’s prospects of first-team minutes even slimmer.

Abdelmounaim Boutouil: SC Mohammedia to Sundowns

24-year-old Boutouil will make history by becoming the first Moroccan to play in the PSL. A noteworthy achievement indeed, and Sundowns fans will be excited to get a glimpse of their new “defensive rock” in action.

Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo: Gallants to Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates pulled off a coup in the market by nabbing 27-year-old midfield schemer Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo from Marumo Gallants. He immediately upgrades Jose Riveiro’s options in the centre of the park and adds some much-needed creative spark.
