“At the moment still busy trying to find our way you know, the whole Covid thing it’s been difficult,” Darren Keet told Kickoff.

“To find a team and things like that it has been difficult so we just taking our time at the moment. I’m in Cape Town I’ve just been training with Roger De Sa’s team Cape United. So I’m just training there to stay fit while we trying to secure myself for the future.”

Asked if he was available to PSL teams, he replied: “We haven’t discussed it with my management yet, but I’m sure once we get closer to know where we wanna be and to what we wanna do then we will see what we decide. No one has contacted me so I’ve got no idea what any team’s plans are at the moment and things like that.

“So it will be very good to see what happens in the future. Me and my family we’ve been in Cape Town since November. I terminated my contract in Belgium because I wasn’t in the coach’s plans.

“I’m sure there’s a few teams in South Africa that will be looking for some ‘keepers except [Mamelodi] Sundowns. Sundowns don’t need a new keeper at the moment. We’ll have to wait and see if anyone wants me or if anyone is interested in me. No one has called me from [Kaizer] Chiefs, no one has called me from [Orlando] Pirates, and I don’t think [Bidvest] Wits is gonna call me back.”

Darren Keet played well over 100 matches for Bidvest Wits in two different spells at the club.

He also has 12 Bafana Bafana caps to his name.
