Could Chiefs consider Hungarian striker in next window?

There is ongoing talk that Kaizer Chiefs could look to sign another striker during the next transfer window.

Recently, there have been clear indications that Chiefs could look to make a couple more squad additions in the next transfer window, with Amakhosi still far from the finished product despite an encouraging win in the recent Soweto derby.

Furthermore, Chiefs’ relative lack of depth in terms of strike-power has been exposed after an injury worry over Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, who has been carrying a considerable weight of responsibility on his shoulders.

However, whether that means the club will dip into the January transfer market remains to be seen.

Coach Arthur Zwane has previously made no secret of the fact Chiefs are at least in the process of fine-tuning a profile of possible players – and particularly strikers – they may look to target in the next transfer window.

Hungarian striker Balint Bajner, who has previously spent time at the likes of Borussia Dortmund and West Ham, has interestingly been linked to Chiefs, and it would certainly be a massive coup if Amakhosi could lure this sort of player to Naturena.

Zwane is looking for Chiefs to be more clinical in front of goal, but has remained coy when discussing the latest possible player search.

“We want to know about the players attitude off the field, on the field, where does he come from, the families and all those things they count a lot in helping a player to come in and perform and give his best all the time, because Kaizer Chiefs is not an easy team,” Zwane told the media this week.

“Kaizer chiefs is a different beast all together if you are not strong mentally you are nit a string character sometimes with talent alone you never gonna survive so we need players who can cope under pressure.”

Chiefs did make some notable changes to both their management and playing group during the pre-season, and there have been some encouraging signs recently to suggest that a “rebuilding phase” could start to reap rewards in the near future.

Interestingly, sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr has recently confirmed to iDiski Times that the club are busy with changes in their scouting department.

“We are busy with the scouting department, we also have identified a few candidates in certain positions, and we will be adopting a different direction, something we haven’t done before,” he added.

“That’s an integral part to us achieving some success and also some of the boys that you are seeing now, that’s already part of the process of our scouting already. It’s well on the way and the new structure is coming and looking forward to what it can achieve for us.”
