Chippa United pulled off a last-minute deal to bring back an exciting township star to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Chippa United pulled off a last-minute deal to bring back an exciting township star to the PSL as part of bolstering their squad for the second half of the season.

Tshepo ‘Skhwama’ Matete is back in topflight football following a spell without a club. He last played for Tshakhuma FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Chippa United teased football fans on their social media platforms on PSL transfer deadline day before unveiling Matete on Wednesday morning.

Matete, 31, is a journeyman who played for a number of clubs both locally and outside the country. Baroka were the first PSL team to give him a chance.

Matete also played for AmaTuks but that was soon after returning from Botswana where played for Township Rollers. Skhwama later played for Mbabane Highlanders.
