Despite the GladAfrica Championship coming to a conclusion over one week ago, a host of teams have decided to challenge the league’s decisions in court thus resulting in CHAOS!

Royal AM’s celebrations were put on ice despite finishing on top of the current log standings after Sekhukhune FC’s pending case result was likely to see them tip the former to the league title and automatic promotion.

In fact, the PSL’s disciplinary committee had already ruled in favour of Sekhukhune just days before the league’s grand finale however the PSL later backtracked on that decision while the final decision remains outstanding.

GladAfrica Championship chaos continues

More chaos in the GladAfrica Championship has ensued with both Cape Umoya United and TS Sporting presenting cases in court regarding offenses caused by opposition teams.

TS Sporting, much like Sekhukhune FC, are demanding three points be awarded to them after Jomo Cosmos committed the error of also not following the the under-23 rule.

Cape Umoya United on the other hand believe three points were unlawfully deducted from them by the PSL after they failed to pitch up for a clash against Cape Town Spurs due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the side.

Should TS Sporting succeed in overturning their 1-0 loss against Jomo Cosmos into a victory, they’ll leapfrog Richards Bay FC into third position on the GladAfrica Championship standings and subsequently make it to the promotion/relegation PSL playoffs.

Should Cape Umoya overturn the original arbitration decision which saw three points given to Cape Town Spurs, the relegation zone will take a completely different look.
