Another weekend, another disappointing result for Kaizer Chiefs in the DStv Premiership. Amakhosi coach Cavin Johnson has sent questions to his players after a 0-0 draw against Polokwane City.

Truth be told, the Soweto giants were lucky to escape with a point, thanks to Polokwane’s wasted goal opportunities. The result nevetheless left Kaizer Chiefs on eighth position, while dropped to ninth place on the DStv Premiership table.

Speaking to the media after the game, Kaizer Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson said his team were out of sorts.

“I don’t think we came out looking like we wanted to win, we didn’t play like I know we can,” Johnson told SuperSport TV, as quoted by the Citizen.

“We gave the ball away far too cheaply. They are a good team that can punish you and they almost punished us.

“In the second half we only switched on in the last 30 minutes, we had a few chances but they were not clearcut. We should have played better … This was our second last game, I think we have to come out a lot better. In past games we have looked much stronger, and we didn’t get that today from our players. We were not good enough technically,” the Kaizer Chiefs mentor concluded.

According the club’s former great goalkeeper, Brian Baloyi, coach Johnson has given all the squad goalkeepers opportunities to wear the number one gloves, except for the 21-year-old Bontle Molefe from the DStv Diski Challenge team.

“I think when I look at all the goalkeepers at Chiefs… All of them had their chance, except for the young goalkeeper Molefe,” Baloyi said. – READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE.
