Cape Town City have parted ways with one of their talented wing-backs after weeks of speculation around the player’s future.

Cape Town City have parted ways with one of their talented wing-backs after weeks of speculation around the player’s future.

Edmilson Dove has officially bid farewell to City, bringing to an end a relationship which lasted for almost five years.

The 27-year-old Mozambique international took to his social media platforms on Wednesday to announce his departure from the Citizens.

DOVE ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE FROM CAPE TOWN CITY

“Thanks For Everything,” wrote Dove.

“To the president, coaches and club staff, to my colleagues who for years treated me with affection and respect and allowing me to feel at home.”

“Not forgetting the club fans for your continued support all these years together. I sure will miss you guys.

“I wish the club and my teammates success in this championship final stretch and for the years to come,” concluded Dove.

Dove leaves City having made 102 competitive appearances for since joining them from Clube Ferroviário de Maputo in 2017.

The left-footer has five goals and two assist to his name as a City player, and he will surely go down the history books as one of the club’s legends.

As things stand, it’s unclear where Dove will be plying his trade next, especially given the fact that he cut his stay with City short.
