BREAKING NEWS: Mandla Ncikazi joins Orlando Pirates!

Orlando Pirates have officially announced the arrival of former Golden Arrows mentor Mandla Ncikazi.

Orlando Pirates have officially announced the arrival of former Golden Arrows mentor Mandla Ncikazi.

In a statement released on Friday, Pirates said Ncikazi will be joining the technical team without specifying the role he will be playing.

Ncikazi, who parted ways with Arrowsel earlier this week, has signed a three-year deal with the Sea Robbers, the club said in the statement.

His appointment comes a few hours after Pirates technical director Stanley Tshabalala denied any knowledge of the reports that Ncikazi was joining the Soweto giants.

While Ncikazi’s role is yet to be specified, rumour has it that Pirates will sack Josef Zinnabauer and replace him with Steve Komphela.

Komphela is currently a senior coach at Mamelodi Sundowns, but he could be reunited with Ncikazi at Pirates.

The two coaches have a long working relationship which saw them lead teams such as Golden Arrows, Maritzburg United and Free State Stars.

Orlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Mandla Ncikazi.

The 52-year old joins the Bucs technical team department on a three year deal.

“I am pleased to be here and look forward to getting started,” said the coach. 

Orlando Pirates technical team and players are scheduled to start preseason on July 1.
