Kaizer Chiefs have made a significant step towards finally getting their man in Nasreddine Nabi according to the latest reports.

It’s no secret that Nabi is the top target for Chiefs, who have been looking to appoint a new coach. 

It isn’t just any coach that Chiefs have been trying to bring, but rather a high profile individual. This seemingly showing they understand the magnitude of the task at hand, if they’re to return the glory days. Top names from all continents have been banded about by various reports. The likes of Alexandre Santos, Jose Peseiro, Rui Vitoria, Pitso Mosimane and recently the return of Nabi to the list. 

Chiefs stepping up Nabi pursuit

After all had been touted as favourites at some point, it finally emerged that there was a possible three-man shortlist. Santos, Mosimane and Nabi were the names the Chiefs management were going to pick from. It was not long before it was the Tunisian who would emerge as the top target for the club. Reports then started circulating on how rigours their pursuit of the mentor was. 

Last week, this publication reported that Chiefs were stepping up their chase for Nabi. They had sent a delegation to Rabat, to try an convince the coach to sign for the club. In turn, he had two demands, to see a proper club plan and freedom with the coaching staff selection. It now seems like they have been met. 

Furthermore, according to reports in Morocco, AS FAR have reached an agreement with Chiefs to let Nabi sign!

“Nasreddine Nabi’s current employers, Botola Pro giants FAR Rabat, have reportedly green-lit the Tunisian’s departure amid speculation linking him with Kaizer Chiefs. According to Moroccan news outlet Biladna 24, the reigning league champions, Nabi and Chiefs have all reached an agreement that will see the 58-year-old leave the nation’s capital once he has coached his final match of the 2023/24 campaign.” Wrote Soccer-Laduma citing the Moroccan publication. 

It now seems like only a matter of time before Nabi is announced as the new Chiefs coach!
