It might be too early for such grand proclamations but the player himself at least appears to have his feet planted firmly on the ground.

In a sign of his hunger to perform, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana said that he wasn’t satisfied with his man of the match efforts because he felt that he had left goals out on the FNB Stadium pitch.

“Yah today I scored two goals but I think I could score more but that is football,” Bimenyimana told SuperSport TV.

“I was trying every time to score, I only scored two and I still have a lot to improve [on] because in this game I see that I was not my self.

“I think I can be more better than this, that is how I feel because I know myself I can give more, more than what I give today but I’m happy for the two goals and the win for the Chiefs family.”

Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana credited Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane with giving him the confidence to perform.

“The coach believe[s] in me, he said go there [do] like what we did in training and you gonna score and it happened, I’m glad,” Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana added.

“I’m happy for myself, for my teammates and the staff.”

There was some drama between Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Kaizer Chiefs after he accused the club of unprofessionalism after feeling ghosted after what he felt was a successful trial.

He had impressed all who had seen him in action creating a sense of anticipation ahead of his debut which has yielded great results.
