Bernard Parker to COACH Kaizer Chiefs after playing days are over?

Kaizer Chiefs veteran Bernard Parker wants to start a coaching career at Amakhosi when his playing days are over.

The 35-year-old former striker has been at Naturena since 2011 and has played close to 400 matches in all competitions for the PSL giants.

Parker is Kaizer Chiefs’ all-time leading goal scorer in the PSL and helped the club win the league in 2012/13 and 2014/15 as well as the Nedbank Cup in 2013 and MTN8 in 2015.

Parker has a contract until the end of the season with a reported option to extend.

Parker’s agent, Mike Makaab, reportedly told Soccer Laduma: “We won’t enter into any discussions until later in the season. We also don’t want to put Bernard under any pressure.

“He has made it clear that in life after football he would love to be involved on the coaching side, and we would like for that to happen at Kaizer Chiefs.

“I can see Bernard with a long term future at Chiefs – in a different role going forward. But one step at a time, let’s enjoy the wonderful season that he is having at the moment.

“It’s been a wonderful past few months.”

This season Parker he has played 15 times, scoring four goals and providing one assist, in all competitions for Kaizer Chiefs.
