AmaZulu have been rocked by injuries to striker Augustine Mulenga and midfielder Keagan Buchanan which will rule them out of action for weeks – if not the rest of the SEASON!.

Mulenga picked up an long-term ankle injury against Raja Casablanca in a CAF Champions League match, while Buchanan is out for around three weeks with a shoulder injury.

New AmaZulu coach Brandon Truter may never have the opportunity of seeing the two players at training should his interim stay not be extended until next season.

“Mulenga and Buchanan are currently not available, with Augustine out for a long time with an ankle injury while Keagan is set to miss two to three weeks of action,” Truter told media.

AmaZulu will be in action in Guinea on Friday, 1 April when they face Horoya AC in their final CAF Champions League Group B match at General Lansana Conté stadium.

Although Truter has travelled with the team, he will not be in charge in Guinea with AmaZulu assistant coach Vasili Manousakis taking control.

Truter, who was unveiled as the successor to Benni McCarthy who was sensationally axed last Friday, has seven DStv Premiership matches in which to move Usuthu from their current ninth place in the standings into the top eight.

AmaZulu’s match against Horoya AC on Friday will kick of at 18:00 SA time.
