AmaZulu will host Golden Arrows at Kings Park in Durban in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday, 16 December.

The KwaZulu-Natal derby is scheduled to kick off at 17:30.

AMAZULU ANNOUNCED THE SIGNING OF BENNI MCCARTHY

In the biggest news of the week, AmaZulu announced the capture of former Bafana Bafana legend Benni McCarthy.

However, McCarthy will not be in the dugout for the match.

Instead, due to his late arrival at the club, McCarthy’s assistant Allan Freese will lead the side having prepared them for the clash.

AmaZulu are currently 11th in the standings after six matches with six points.

Those points have come via a single win, three draws and two defeats.

GOLDEN ARROWS ARE UNDEFEATED

In contrast, Golden Arrows are undefeated this season, but have been ‘draw specialists’ with no fewer than five of their six matches having ended in stalemates.

They do boast a solitary win over SuperSport United, giving them eight log points to date – and seventh-place in the standings.

MCCARTHY IS BAFANA’S LEADING SCORER

McCarthy, Cape Town-born and a former Cape Town City FC head coach, is still Bafana Bafana’s all-time leading goal scorer with 31 goals in 80 matches for the national team.

He has enjoyed tremendous success as a player both in South Africa and abroad.

McCarthy was a member of the victorious Champions League Porto side in 2003/04 and also played for Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam as well as Blackburn Rovers and West Ham during his time in England.
