There is not going to be any knee-jerk reaction from Kaizer Chiefs when it comes to under-fire coach Arthur Zwane.

Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane won’t be any stranger to criticism and pressure, with various onlookers having suggested he wasn’t the best man for the job earlier this season when results weren’t going the way of Amakhosi.

However, there was then a brief resurgence from the team which provided a bit of breathing room, but a shock loss to Golden Arrows has ramped up the intensity once again.

Zwane was on the receiving end of some jeers from disappointed fans on Sunday, while others chanted for him “to go”, but it’s highly unlikely any rash decision will be made right now.

“You should know that coach Arthur is trusted at the club, I think everybody knows that by now,” a source has reiteraed when talking to Phakaaathi. “The management believes in him and they have seen what he has done with the young players. The club has a plan … they know that this season is going to be difficult… What I just want to say to you is that coach Arthur is very safe and his job is also safe.”

Meanwhile, Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. called on supporters to stick by the team at this time.

“I think as management, whether we have from the board of directors, our chairman down through the rest of management, it’s about creating the right environment for the players to thrive – bringing the right players, having top an infrastructure, making the right decisions,” he said, as quoted by iDiski Times.

“Right now, as we stand right now, we have a very young team, a new new team, and the results are only achieved on Saturday or the week after, from the players on the pitch. That’s the situation we find ourselves in right now.

“From our side, it’s about planning adequately for the immediate future, and making sure that we make the right decisions that will enhance our learning. But at the same time, we do ask for some calmness and support from the Amakhosi faithful. It’s difficult and none of us are happy with our position in the league.”
