Kaizer Chiefs are casting their net far and wide for a new permanent head coach.

Chiefs keen to bag a Brazilian

According to KickOff.com, Amakhosi top brass will turn to former Real Madrid manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo if their attempt to sign Pitso Mosimane end up being futile.

Coach Vanderlei (Luxemburgo) is weighing up his options now and the idea of Kaizer Chiefs is an option that he is open to considering. The project at hand is what will influence his decision to join his next club more than money issues because he has made a lot of money before. Having played in South Africa, I think the Chiefs project will be suitable for him because he will be able to bring back the club to where it belongs. Experience-wise, he is second to none because he has handled superstars like Zidane and Beckham.” said agent Pio Nogueira.

Does Luxemburgo fit the bill?

“I don’t know what Chiefs have in mind, but I feel Vanderlei can be able to do a job for them. Based on what has happened in recent years, they need an experienced coach. As is the trend in the game, Vanderlei moves with his trusted people. It is about time that they get a Brazilian coach with experience. It will be interesting to see what Chiefs decide when such a coach is also available,” Nogueira concluded.

Dove to miss Arrows and Pirates clashes

Mozambican defender Edmilson Dove committed a professional foul against Moroka Swallows. The red card he subsequently received rules him out of Amakhosi’s clashes with Golden Arrows in midweek and Orlando Pirates at the weekend. The Glamour Boys host Arrows at FNB Stadium on Tuesday at 19:30 and then travel to Orlando Stadium for the Soweto Derby on Saturday 9 March. Kickoff in the big one is at 15:30.
