Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Hendrick Ekstein and ex-Orlando Pirates winger Thabo Qalinge are back at Usuthu for assessment.

And that’s because Folz wants to try and see if he can have different options going into the second half of the season.

According to AmaZulu media officer Brilliant Mkhathini, Folz is treating this break as pre-season hence both Qalinge and Ekstein were invited over.

However, Mkhathini told Sunday World that Folz isn’t prepared to say anything about the two talented midfielders as he wants to have more time to work with them.

What’s clear, though, is that the fate of both Qalinge and Ekstein would be re-signed if Folz recommends that he needs them back at AmaZulu.

“The coach [Folz] is treating these few weeks as something of a pre-season since he arrived with little time to see much else besides preparing for back-to-back games. So he’s using the time to see different options,” said Mkhathini.

“The coach isn’t prepared to say anything about the guys because they’ve been training, and he has not seen them before. It’s just that they may be considered should he advise the club on that, that’s all.”
