AmaZulu continue their search for a win in 2020 with a difficult home game on Sunday against SuperSport United at Kings Park.

Usuthu General Manager Lunga Sokhela has made no secret of his displeasure with the eThekwini Municipality, who he accused of failing to ensure their pitches were of a high enough quality to play football on.

Sokhela was also recently angered by the club having to deny that AmaZulu approached Luc Eymael over the possibility of taking over as coach.

The Belgian former Black Leopards mentor claimed that Usuthu had done so, but an AmaZulu statement read: “The club has moved quickly to refute claims made by former Black Leopards coach Luc Eymael that the club contacted him to take over at AmaZulu as head coach according to a Kickoff website article.”

Sokhela added: “This is totally unprofessional and disrespectful to coach Jozef Vukusic who enjoys one hundred percent support from the board and management.”

There has been some improvement to results under Vukušič, but AmaZulu are struggling for goals apart from those scored by Bongi Ntuli.

Ntuli was on target twice in the 2-2 draw with Cape Town City and has now scored 10 of AmaZulu’s 11 league goals in 2019-20.

SuperSport United also drew their last match 2-2, although they were playing at home to Maritzburg United.

Kudakwashe Mahachi and Evans Rusike scored, but SuperSport twice let the lead slip.

Matsatsantsa have been busy in the transfer market, recently announcing the signing of attacking midfielder Moses Waiswa from Ugandan team Vipers.

Kick-off time and prediction

Kick-off time: 12 January, 15:30

Prediction: Not good news for AmaZulu fans. Their odds are 3.50, making the expected chance of winning 29%. They only win 25% of matches with these odds. They might take some solace from the fact that despite SuperSport United’s chances of winning being 48%, they only win 36% of fixtures with those odds.
